An Escapade that boded hope
Hey guys!!! I tried a story today, I hope you all love it, especially the Percy Jackson fans-
Leo is still asking me to brush off the piece of gum stuck on his mane! I think lions do have too much pride; even I have hay all over my lovely feathers and scratches on my belly, but I'm not complaining. Well, that makes the two of us.
We all live in a zoo truck that reaches out to gloat about kindness and animal love. So much animal love that they trapped a lion, zebra, goat, 2 kangaroos (smuggled from Australia) and a bird, the prettiest in the world, from Mozambique, in cages and in the very same zoo truck. Well, the bird is me and we don't get much of anything - food, love, care, cleanliness! nothing!
Every time the back door opened, I flew with all my might, but due to the lack of exercise on my wings, I always fell back down. However, I still always tried. The kangaroos and Leo the lion, on the other hand, had given up. Zion the zebra and Gogo the goat wanted freedom, but lacked determination. I tried day and night to motivate them to try to run but even I knew that with these evil 'caretakers' there wasn't much hope.
As I was lost, deep in thought, the door opened and 2 young men walked in... not men exactly, one was a godling, I could tell. He had a strong aura. Along with him, came a satyr - half goat, half man - one of the servants of the God of the wild, Pan. The Great, Glorious Pan. I had a good feeling about this. Suddenly, something thumped against my cage and I yelped. A young girl the same age as the boy (12, I think) shimmered into existence before me. She had stormy grey eyes and curly blond hair. Also, she didn't seem to have the same camaraderie with the boys that they shared with each other, although, she was a half-blood too. Different aura, of power and wisdom, but a half-blood indeed.
Looking at us with pitiful eyes, they sorted out the food scraps first, desperate to find any way to feed our feeble, hungry bodies. The satyr was Grover, he told us. Satyrs are blessings and heroes to encaged animals, and I could feel the zeal rising to escape. The blond girl, Annabeth, they called her, disappeared again to cause a disturbance. The boy freed our chains and Grover placed upon us, THE WILD GOD'S BLESSING! Oh what a hero he is! The both of them - Grover and Percy kicked open the doors and helped us run free.
I now live in the forests, fly around with my flock, and have never ever forgotten the three heroes, who walked into my life - literally and sawed off the chains that kept my wings, hidden inside. That is my story that I share with many in the world, but I hope that they know, you don't always need heroes to lead the escapade that bodes hope - every story needs a champion and every champion needs grit, resilience and, most of all, hope.

Wonderful! The imaginative idea is clear; if there is hope, there is a Messiah. But, as you have nicely put in the concluding lines, one must "feel" the heroic spirit inside, instead of "waiting" for one to come from outside. The true "revolution"- or escapade here- is about changing the "perception", from "waiting" to "working". And, "working" comes with a deep and constant struggle. It needs clarity of both intention as well as action.
ReplyDeleteOne humble submission: Be careful about choosing the characters. Each character should be fitting to the whole analogical scheme; the method of translating and transforming the idea. Imbibe your characters with a greater degree of relevance and meaning.
Thank you
